©1997 CEV Multimedia, 22 minutes
#CEV-D0554, Price $99

Join us as we tour a modern facility that focuses on one or the world's oldest industries. At the International Center for Textile Research and Development, you’ll see textile testing from fiber to fabric.

Start in the testing lab where you’ll check the strength of cotton fibers. Then, watch worsted processing and mechanical processing (carding, drawing and combing), ring and rotor spinning onto bobbins, warp preparation and fabric formation (weaving, knitting, double-knitting).

Also discusses the green and brown “naturally colored cotton” produced through genetically engineered plants. Collaborator: James S. Parker, director. Includes Study Guide.

We highly recommend it!
